Alternative methods

Prevent hypertension

When hypertension is not the consequence of an underlying disease, it can be treated with an appropriate lifestyle: more exercise, more vegetables and fish and less meat, cold cuts and prepared meals, reduction of foods with a high glycemic load, as well as hypotensive plants such as hawthorn, olive or garlic (and maximum two glasses of organic red wine per day). Mild hypertension, often of emotional origin, can be relieved by antispasmodic and calming plants such as lemon balm, marjoram or lavender. A link exists between vitamin D deficiency and hypertension, and vitamin C with coenzyme Q10 also have a beneficial effect.
